very painful, but it works.

another thing you can do is keep your scalp clean.

good foundation, good hair!

Did any of you have hair loss issue due to stopping birth control? If so,what did you do to help it?

A few times it happened to me that after I stopped taking bcp,I noticed hair loss and was really devastated due to inability to find a proper treatment for my hair, and doctors only blame stress for it. I recently stopped Yasmin(3 weeks ago) and noticing some hair loss.

Any advice? PleaseDid any of you have hair loss issue due to stopping birth control? If so,what did you do to help it?
Normal Hair Growth Cycle

The hairs on your head do not all grow at the same time in the exact same way. There are 3 stages in the hair growth cycle. In the Anagen stage the hairs grow. This stage can last anywhere from 2 to 10 years and affects about 85% of your hairs at any given time. In the Catagen stage also known as the transition stage - the time between growth and rest. In this stage only about 1% of your hair and only lasts about 2 weeks. Many professionals combine this stage with the Telogen or resting stage. The Telogen stage affects only about 15% of your hairs and can last up to 6 weeks.

Hormonal Effects on Hair Loss

Hormone levels can affect hair loss in the following manner. They can cause hair loss to happen more quickly. Hormones can also accelerate hair growth of a large number of hairs at once and some months later go into the resting stage and fall out.

Estrogens during pregnancy extend the growth stage. Months after delivery the hairs that grew will all go into the resting stage and then fall out. The hairs will return to the normal growth pattern eventually.

Birth Control-Oral Contraceptive Effects

Hormone Replacement Therapy - HRT hormones contain estrogens. These can as has been mentioned accelerate the growth stage. You may find that a few months after starting HRT that your hairs begin to fall out giving the appearance of hair loss. The hairs that grew all at the same time will also go into the resting stage and eventually fall out. This will eventually end and hair will return to the normal growth cycle.

Birth Control in the form of oral contraceptives in younger women will act like HRT does in older women. If you are a younger woman you may not notice the hair growth necessarily because younger women generally have thicker hair. They will however, notice the hair loss that will likely occur a few months down the road after beginning the use of oral contraceptives.

If you are concerned about this pattern of hair loss consult your doctor. It is not recommended at this point to stop the hormones because a couple of months after you stop them you will still lose hair.

Conclusion

Hormones whether they are a result of pregnancy or Hormone Replacement Therapy will affect the normal hair growth pattern. Estrogens (female hormones) can speed up hair growth of many hairs all at once. At the end of pregnancy or some months later the hair that grew will go into rest and fall off. This is not a permanent condition as hair will return to the normal cycle eventually. Hair loss (from) birth control does happen but doesn't last forever.Did any of you have hair loss issue due to stopping birth control? If so,what did you do to help it?
you can take a multi vitamin and biotin

What shampoo stops or slows hair loss?? Does Nioxion or Nourish help?

Like, I've been shedding hair like crazy this year and it's driving me insane. My scalp is starting to become visible. Especially when its wet. But when it's dry it's not that bad. You just have to comb through it to see it. Now I know you lose 100 hairs a day, but... I'm 18 and it's a huge blow at this age. It's not a big concern at this time but i'd like to tackle it before it's to late. The Nioxion said it gets rid of DHT so that might be good. So any suggestions would be good. Thanks. What shampoo stops or slows hair loss?? Does Nioxion or Nourish help?
anyway hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also I used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.com/?id=fc7a24

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

good luck!

Continued hair loss over several years. Not stopping! Help!?

I've always had TONS of hair until I went, briefly, on a thyroid medication. Handfulls of hair started falling out after I was on it for aobut six months so I stopped. I'm not one for medications or anything synthetic in my body so I also stopped my birth control pills that I'd been on for like ten years around the same time. The hair loss continued. At this point, my son is three and a half years old but the hair loss hasn't stabalized, I have definite bald spots and only wear my hair pulled back since when I leave it down it actually looks thin and whispy. I've seen probably four doctors and none of them have an answer or any good suggestions. I've heard if its due to hormones it should stabalize and start to grow back but at this point I've lost hope. Am I doomed to a life of headwraps and wigs???Continued hair loss over several years. Not stopping! Help!?
It sounds as if ';alopecia nervosa'; may be your problem. The words simply mean hair lost for emotional reasons. Maybe becoming a mother has been specially stressful?

Some hair loss is normal during pregnancy, but that was a while ago....Continued hair loss over several years. Not stopping! Help!?
If you are off the medication it may begin to grow back once all that stuff works its way out of your system. However, some hair loss caused by medication may be permanent.
Research the B vitamin component Biotin. They say that even bald men who lost their hair 25 years before started to grow hair while taking huge amounts of biotin. I think Linus Pauling did some research on this at one point. It seems like it was tested to the amount of 100g a day or something. It is water soluble and safe. But it takes huge amounts. Just research the supplement biotin. And make sure the amount needed to grow hair is safe for you to take. Ok that with your doctor.

I hope your hair comes back quickly. I know how tragic it is for this to happen to females.

Hair loss...losing my hair....due to stress they say...anything I can do to help it stop and grow back?

Stress related hair loss is becoming more common. If it is really just due to stress there is some good news. Your hair will grow back after the source of the stress has been removed. Due to the nature of stress induced hair loss though your hair will not start to grow back for months after the stress has gone. So do not start panicking.

There are several things you can do to help.

#1 relax. Doing things like meditating. yoga or just exercising all help to remove stress. Many people use self hypnosis tapes or musc to help them relax. All these methods work

#2 Eat a healthy diet. Hair is 95% protein and eating a diet with plenty of vitamins and proteins will not only make your hair look healthy but will help you to keep it.

#3 take hair supplements. There are many that contain all the vitamins and proteins your hair needs and will help you with growing your hair back.

HAIR LOSS DUE TO ACCUTANE -- will it eventually stop? help!?

i am a 17 year old female ... i was on accutane for 6 months and have now been off it for about 3 months. i hardly experienced any side effects while on the drug, but just within the past month (about 2 mos. after being off the drug) i have been losing tons of hair... i notice it mostly in the shower (big wads of hair down the drain) and it is noticeable around my hairline.

this scares me since this has only starting happening after going off accutane (i know for a fact it is due to the drug). anyone else experienced this? will the hair loss eventually stop? will it grow back?HAIR LOSS DUE TO ACCUTANE -- will it eventually stop? help!?
Below is a question that was asked of Dr Khadavi of

http://www.morphollica.com and he has given the answer below. Hope this is helpful

Hello Dr. Khadavi I was on accutane for about 6 months and during my treatment I had no signs of hair loss. It was only after about 3 to 4 months that I started to notice my hair falling out a lot. I'm starting to see many strands of hair in my brush which I hardly ever had before. I hair is essentially falling out everywhere throughout my head, which includes the the top, and sides. The front of my hair where the hair line is, seems to be stronger than the other parts and not fall out as much, and the back of my head is better as well, since the hair is really short. One other thing, the hairs that fall out don't seem to have big roots attached to them, they seem to be small roots. Do these symptoms go with telogen effluvium? Finally, Have you ever had patients who had hair loss due to accutane? and if so, did you see that they regained their hair again? Thank you.

Answer from DR KHADAVI:

I have patients that have had hair loss while on Accutane and typically it may last for 6-9 months and most of the hair then regrows.

I don麓t know what he means when he says most of it grows back. If interested you may want to reseach my Best Answers about hair loss and a natural treatment I discovered after much experimentation and reseach. It definitely restores growth but the results take several months.HAIR LOSS DUE TO ACCUTANE -- will it eventually stop? help!?
Don't stress yourself out. I have the same side effect but thankfully you are girl and they will recover while males are less likely to. The downside of this is that it might take a while for it to stop. From 6 months to 2 years or more! Try not to stress out because in the end it will stop for you. Good luck

Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems. It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of a cycle of growing new hairs and loosing some. Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Any food that will help, Speacial vitamins, drinksWhat helps stops hair loss?
If there was something to help stop hair loss, there would be no such thing as ';Hair Club for Men';, or rugs or hair plugs. Sorry. What helps stops hair loss?
get the hair that is in your brush, and tape it to your head
buy rogaine for men. if ur a women, change into a man. just kidding ;)
Most hair loss is hereditary. However, it could also be a result of stress. I'm not sure if you're male or female. Obviously, if you're male you're more prone to baldness anyway. According to your screenname though it seems your only about 23, so going bald this early in life seems a bit soon, but not unheard of. Either way, you need to eat a heathly balanced diet. Good nutrition means you'll have good skin, teeth, nails... and hair. If you're stressed out, try to relax and find effective ways to deal with your dilemmas. As for vitamins, I know Vitamin E is known to improve hair quality, so maybe you could try taking a daily multi-vitamin that has extra Vitamin E. One more thing it could be is the hair products you use. If you have dry hair, DO NOT shampoo everyday. Only shampoo when you can't stand the filth anymore. Don't use hair products with alcohol in them... AT ALL. Alcohol damages your hair, making it brittle and break. Many gels and mousses come without alcohol in them, you just have to read the ingredients before you buy it. NEVER brush it if its wet... always gently pick it out first, then brush it only after it's completly dry. If you blow dry your hair, don't dry it completely, let some of it dry on its own to help keep your roots moisurized. Good luck. And if all else fails and you go totally bald, you can always find really nice hats! :)
It really depends. If it's from stress, a calmer lifestyle would help. As for food or vitamins, from what I've heard, increasing intake of Zinc really helps, which can be found in foods such as oysters or can be taken as a mineral supplement from the pharmacy.

Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

go to the store, like wall mart and look for some hair loss products, and don't brush your hari to much or to hard don't get the tangles out, it'll make it worse, just use conditioner or something.
after two stomach surgeries, I began losing my hair.....and I am in my 30's!!! I started taking a vitamin supplement called biotin, and I think it can help you out.

HELP!!! Best way to stop / prevent premature hair loss??

I am only 23 and I have noticed that my hair is dramatically thinning.. I lose finger-fulls of hair in the shower daily and my hair line is thinning.. I haven't used any chemicals in my hair in almost a year and need to know what is the next step to reverse and prevent the hair thinning?? (preferrably an affordable option, but I am open to all suggestions) HELP ME!!!HELP!!! Best way to stop / prevent premature hair loss??
This might help you - I know the problem and it helped me. I started having problems with bad, unhealthy looking hair and what everyone called dandruff but learned that it was not but also learned that the cause of all my problems was harsh ingredients in shampoos.and overwashing. So stopped using them and everything started to heal naturally. So you will be better off doing the same. Best to use tea tree oil shampoo - buy at Tesco(own brand). I too was loosing hair and just by chance found a treatment that stopped the loss. I had heard that if the scalp had suffered from bad product use, if was stimulated or irritated in some way that it would get revitalized and would start producing strong well anchored hair that would not shed. So contrary to some accepted thinking that brushing would shed more or break hairs, I started regularly brushing with a palm held fairly stiff bristled brush (50 times). My aim was to stimulate the scalp. There was a little hair shedding and some breakages only to begin with but that stopped as hair started growing stronger. There was some new growth also (yes, amazingly, it was new growth). Kept brushing just as strongly every other day and overtime those hairs grew longer and more new hair appeared. Sometimes I massaged the hair AND scalp with oil(an organic oil - olive oil is good, tea tree oil is better - it's a natural anti-septic) after brushing and slept with it that way. I protected pillow with an old towel. That does get a beautiful, healthy sheen to the hair. No more shedding after that and hair where it was thin is now healthy and full again. I still maintain a regular brushing routine and avoid overwashing - that is bad for the hair. I'm a vegetarian and take care to eat healthily and do yoga meditation and chanting - but I do not think that is much of a factor in the cure. I can be emailed(see my profile) if you want more info.

Not shallow, much self esteem tied up with looks in our society. My loss started at 20. This is only treatment that stopped it and reversed it. Won't be overnight - you need to persist. Best wishes

brush w/ a comb, takes out less hair... me, i only wash my hair about once every 5 days or so.. till it really needs it. i had that problem 2, and now im getting compliments. the shampoo and conditioner strips your hair, especially when used every day.... also, vitamins, not hair vitamins... prenatal vitamins(get em at any drug store,)... they are great for your heath as well... but they made my hair and nails grow so fast when i was pregnant, i just kept taking them. good luck, hope this helps.
Nioxin - you can get in the the salon. I swear by it! Most salons have samples so maybe ask your hair stylist. And if it starts to become worse, maybe try hair extensions. If Nioxin doesnt help I would seek help from a physician, they can also prescribe meds as well as review your diet and health to make sure it isnt something more serious than hair genetics.
well try not to let your scalp be exposed to sunlight. and try moisturizing Hemp Shampoo and Conditioner, this will make your hair a bit thicker and more moisturized.
try shaving your head...or buy a hat
ASK A DOCTOR, AND APPLY OLIVE OIL TO YOUR HAIR, IT MAKES YOUR HAIR STRONG, OR TO HIDE IT, WEAR A WIG
ask your doctor what he recomends you do or see if you really do have a problem
This is a very good remedy for hair loss; take a strong multi-vitamin %26amp; mineral (your local health hsop should advise you), plus 2 grams of vitamin C %26amp; zinc. There'll be zinc in the multi-vitamin but take the extra dose as instructed until the hair begins to grownormally.

Also, use shampoos that contain sodium laureth sulphate. Your local health shop should have ones without. Jason, faith in nature do some good ones %26amp; they're not that much more expensive but well worth it.

(this iste has some also, check ingredients as some have s.l.s) it's free P%26amp;P in UK
First what products are you using?

Remember too many products and things done to your hair can damage it further and you can loose more hair, second every 7 years your body chemistry changes as well. I highly recomend staying away from things with sulfer or sulfate in the ingredients, sounds hard to find shamppo, but it's not. Try going to a wild oats or whole food there natural shamppos have no salt agents in them and will help the ahir you have be stronger. Second get a hair massager, i can be even an odd type of brush. Massage the scalp some that can help prevent hair loss in men. Also are you getting enough Omega's in your diet? Omega 3,6 and 9 are esentail for skin, hair, nail growth and health. Folic acid is another thing good for hair growth, you can buy those both as supplements and an Omega complex.

Also sometimes you can over-wash your hair as well in glamore or allure magazine in january's issue there was an article on hair models. I suggest readingt hat, sorry i forgot the magazine it was in. Most hair models wash there hair 2-3 times a week and don't use conditioners, but rely on their hair's natural oils.

I hope this helps! Also water is good too remember 8-8oz glasses can help as well.
I would go to see your doctor who can refer you to a specialist. There are supplements in health shops that are designed to supply the vitamins needed for healthy hair, and shampoos designed to help any problems with the scalp. Also if you are under any stress that won't help so try to stay away from stressful situations as much as you can, even though thats often difficult. My first stop would be the doctor though
apply oil and simply massage Ur finger.., after one hour take head bath.., using the shampoo method is, mix with little drop of water and shampoo and then apply, wash it clearly.., after one month it`s give a perfect result... don`t use Vvd coconut oil it`s important reason for hair fall.. GOOD LUCK............
I have thick hair and think me not washing it to often helps. When i

was younger i used to wash it with a shampoo called Lin co Beer

and it did thicken the hair.
    try to be more relaxed
You should wear a hat that will keep it on
you know i went through the SAME exact thing...when i was about 20. All of a sudden i'd just have huge clumps in my hand or in my brushes...and all my family noticed it too.....and it's never came back....it's just not really noticeable anymore becuase i take good care of it. I actually went to the doctors and she told me to brush my hair more to stimulate the scalp, but i kinda think that was bullshit. Don't color your hair no more...be really careful when brushing/syling....take biotin supplements...i actually got them at a salon. they worked pretty good. also stress could be causing this 100% you need to make sure you're taking care of your body mentally as well, or it will physically fall apart.
Maybe it's simply because your hair is too long. The longer the hair, the heavier the burden for the roots--hence they release the hair to relieve excessive pressure on the roots. Try getting a trim.

If you want to keep them long, try changing your hair care products. About a year ago, I switched to organic conditioner and I haven't had any problems with hair loss. Also, it helps if you change your shampoo every time the bottle runs out. Using the same shampoo over and over again tends to dull the hair and weaken the roots.

Lastly, also pay attention to your diet. Avoid junk food as the chemicals and preservatives in those also play a big part in hair, skin, and nails.

    Good luck!

How can I help my husband stop stressing over hair loss?

We're a young married couple with basically no money, and my man is super stressed about hair loss. He inspects his hair all the time and always asks me if I see a difference, and any answer I give him is ofcourse wrong and he ends up getting pissed at me. If I say I don't see a difference (which I don't) he yells at me for being a liar.

This is the same when a woman asks her husband if she gained weight and he doesn't know what to say without starting a fight...

HELP! Men are strange, I know putting a hand on his shoulder and saying don't worry will make him want to choke me, and I've tried telling him a million times I don't care if he loses his hair, I still find him attractive. It doesn't make a difference...

There are lots of ways to stop hair loss but the first step is to find out why you are losing it... There are lots of causes for hair loss including thyroid imbalance, hormones, stress, diet... Have you had any blood work done by a doctor? Have you made any major changes to your diet lately? Any surgery? Changed BCPs? Started new medication??
Take few neem leaves, aawala, reetha and put these things in coconut oil.Warm it for 2min ,cool and strain it.Use this oil regularly.use herbal shampoo or silkesha.whenever u massage while applying oil or using shampoo, use your finger tips and with light strokes.thigs will get better after2weeks.GOOD LUCK.
heard applying wine or sag of avocado plant to your scalp help grow hair back.

brush and massage your hair/ scalp daily.

don't bind up your hair all the time especially when wet.

    use hair tonic.
I had the same problem. My solution? I use aloe vera shampoo to make my hair thick and shiny. It also helps prevent split ends. I also take Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins. I make sure my diet has enough protein to ensure healthy hair growth (poor nutrition also causes hair loss). After shower, when the hair is most fragile, I apply aloe vera gel and also use a leave-in conditioner so I can comb my hair easily without having to deal with tangles. The aloe vera products, by the way, are available in some beauty stores. Bottomline: try the simple remedies first before buying expensive hair restoration products. So far, the steps I've mentioned here helped and I don't have problems about clogged drains anymore, hehe :-)
    Hi,

There are many hair loss products available on the internet. Unfortunately some of them are bad but there are some good ones.

I suffered from hair loss three years ago and bought a lot of treatments, over $1000 worth. Basically, I wasted my money on a lot of uneffective products before I finally found one that worked.

The hair loss treatment below is a product that an old friend recommended to me and it has really helped me.

The product shows both male and females how to strengthen, restore AND revitalize hair naturally without side effects.
Melanie has the right idea. I am 38 and I have been through this 4 different times. The first time I was taking Seldane for my allergies (it was later removed from the market). The next two times it was when my thyroid was off balance. The final time was when I was taking Zocor. The good news is my hair came back as thick as ever once my thyroid was straightened out and when I quit taking the medicine.

I was blessed with very thick, long and healthy hair until I moved to NY.

My hair immediately came out in huge gobs, this continued for over 30 years. I did not become bald nor did strangers think it was thin, but I lost the original thickness.

No doctor was able to explain why I lost my hair.

Well, I moved from NY 2 years ago and lo and behold - my hair has started to re-thicken again.

It appears that stress was the cause all along. I'm now relaxed and happy and my hair shows it. Go figure.Do the clinics to stop hair loss like (Dr.Batras) really help?

Need more information. What is your age, gender, general health, and history of hair loss in your family? Could be PCOD, alopecia, male pattern baldness, and many other causes. Please i want urgent help iam loosing much hair on my head i am taking biotin but how to stop hair loss tellme
it happened to me too. at 27 my hair started falling out in the shower. it didn't look like it was thinning, but i could run my hands through and get a bunch of hair. i went to the doc and got tested for thyroid, other adrenal conditions, and hormone balances. when everything checked out okay i started on a vitamin B-Complex with Folic Acid and Biotin. Nature Maid makes one that they sell at Wal-Mart. after about a month, it decreased considerably and after two months it stopped. i stopped taking the vitamin (kept forgetting) and it hasn't returned. i heard folic acid and gelatin, and biotin working together with B-complex has better results. Please i want urgent help iam loosing much hair on my head i am taking biotin but how to stop hair loss tellme
stop stressing everyone loses millions of hairs a day it all right my dad went bald at the age of 19 so he know wat it feels like if u want u could shave u head or get a hair cut that looks like u arent losing hair like a buzz cut or something short
belive me dont use a comb
Make it a point to really brush your hair well every day to stimulate the scalp/ hair follicles.
it's a natural thing. yu can try prescriptions or bosley hair restoration, but more than likely if it's happening so quickly, it's just going to keep on. own your new look. be confident, and it will be fine.
Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

How 2 stop ur hair loss??????????????????? pls help?

stop vegan (if you're) a lil' bit of meat gives your hair the nutrient it need

Eat more fibre (if you don't eat enough vegs)

Cut down on sodium. Or any salt.

If possible cut OFF all products containing Transglutaminase. (for example, the famed Ajinomoto)

Wash your hair roots. That's where it grows, not at the ends.

Cut it shorter. Lil' bit of weight off the roots gives it more incentive to grow more healthily.

    Lastly, look for experts.

Good luckHow 2 stop ur hair loss??????????????????? pls help?
Biotin tablets will help strengthen and regrow your hair, but if it falling out due to a chemical process, things like Rogain will NOT help.

are you lacking in iron in your diet. I know its slightly different, but when I had my baby my hair went thin and lots of it was falling out due to lack of iron. my hairdresser told me to take sea kelp (herbal supplements in tablet form) and this has worked wonders.

I would suggest that you either mention it to your doctor or go and see a nutrionalist if you're worried. xHow to stop hair loss?i am losing a lot of em please help.?
anyway hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.

year ago I suffered from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also you should use some herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

    good luck!

not only my and my husband`s own personal experience
Maybe it's the change of weather or you're in an area where the water is hard. Or maybe you are stressed because of the move to USA. And so that you're indian, remember that spicy food is bad for the skin in general, and it might as well affect your scalp.

If you suspect that something's wrong with your scalp, try using Nioxin, it's not fantastic but it's better than most... and you can also buy a shower filter is something's wrong with the water in you area.

you could also try chanting around a campfire naked with sticks.

I had the same thing when I had twins. It will come back. Make sure you are not cutting too many calories. Take your prenatal vitamins and drink lots of water. If you are breast feeding you need more calories.

good luck! How to stop hair loss? i really need help to know which shampoo is the best.?
There are several things you can do to stop hair loss.

Take hair supplements, there are many that contain all the vitamins and proteins your hair needs. many people miss out on vital vitamins and proteins in their diets and their hair suffers.

Use a good shampoo. Ideally it should have a pH close to that of your hair. That is pH between between 5.5 and nine. Avoid shampoos with plenty of lathering agents. thse can damage your hair and your scalp. Ideally you need a shampoo specifically for hair loss.( Personally I used nisim shampoo)

Eat a healthy diet. Your Hair is mainly protein and eating a diet with plenty of vitaminsand proteins will not only make your hair look healthy but will help you keep it.

avoid stress, this is a major cause of hair loss and avoiding it will help you keep your hair. How to stop hair loss? i really need help to know which shampoo is the best.?
No shampoo can help hair loss. 99% of the time when women think that their hair is falling out it is actually breaking off. If most of the hairs have a white bulb on the end it has fallen out, if not it is breaking off. Blow drying hair removed 90% of it's moisture, leaving it dry, brittle, and prone to breakage. Get a salon quality conditioner and wash your hair in cool water. If you straighten or curl, use a thermal styling spray.
Instead of shampoo you can try this. Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar (add around 2 tbsp in a mug of water and use it as a last rinse) this prevents hair loss. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

What can I use on my hair to help stop breakage and loss?

I am an African American woman with naturally curly hair. It breaks very easily, and is always very dry and brittle no matter what moisturizer I use. I need some help from the hair care doctors on this one. What can I use to moisturize, stop breakage and promote a healthy regrowth? What can I use on my hair to help stop breakage and loss?
    1st step- avoid chemicals

2nd- heat protect- before you style use a heat protecting spray (my favoite is from CHI)

3rd- avoid sulfate shampoo's (this will be hard and you'll have to spend a little more)

4th- avoid excessive styling- don't constant pull the hair backin a tight bun or with weave- it'll cause breakageWhat can I use on my hair to help stop breakage and loss?
Using a satin cap does wonders. You can get em at Walmart (black hair care section by the shampoos) or Sally's for 2-4 dollars. Don't get the super cheap ones because they aren't as good. Also, grease your scalp and hair every other night at first with hair oil. Do this for 2 weeks then you can reduce it to oiling 3-4 times a week or so. This should help hair growth. Try to roller set each time you wash your hair if you can.

You should wrap your hair every night before you put the satin cap on, but if you're too tired don't fret. It literally takes 1 second to put on, it's like a shower cap. You should comb -- not tear out -- your hair frequently, though.

If you choose to ignore everything else, use the satin cap above all, it really works wonders, I know from personal experience.
Washing your hair too much drys it out and helps it to break. Never comb or brush your hair when it is dry. Water drys your hair out.

I use B%26amp;B hair creme. Pantene conditioner(not a leave in) actually works really good for my hair (Not necessarily the one for women of color). Suave (not a leave in) hair conditioner works good. Liv leave in hair Conditioner is working good for me right now.

    Olive oil worked for me.

It seems that I can't always use the same products all the time. It's like my hair gets used to it and I have to switch up every now and then.

I love my curly healthy natural locks. Don't you?
it's all about what you put in your body. keeping hydrated is good for skin/hair, taking hair/skin/nails vitamins will help with stronger hair regrowth

if you're willing to afford it, try Altera Caviar shampoo and conditioner (~25 per)
Try Jojoba oil. You massage the scalp with it and leave it on for a short time. When you shampoo it washes clean!

Native Americans have used it for centuries. It strengthens the hair at the root level. I love it! You can actually use it every day if you feel like it and it won't build up. You find it at local health food stores. :-)
BIO SILK, you can find it and any salon or at heb, it's kinda expensive but hey god only gave you one set of hair ;)

put a dime sized amount on the ends when you get out of the shower and before you go to bed, it saved my hair's life!

Your hair should be damaged, badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar this helps control hair fall.Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

First off dont wash your hair to much second off whatever your doing STOP if its straightening Stop using Chemicals / hair products STOP just leave your hair and STOP combing it constantly and when you wash your hair roller set it and use a good shampoo and conditioner goodluck :)
use something natural as to herbal oils

    and clip ya ends.

and if your perming it stay on schedule.

stay away from too much hot irons.
I have mixed children and grease works well on there hair, I know that there are perms out there that might help as well... If all else fails, go see a good hairdresser!
try natural oils for the dryness like coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil

leave it in your hair for about 20 min then wash like you usually do
    Biosilk smoothing system

    works great.
They sell this stuff at wall greens it called CARROT CREME. It works very good. Try it
better shampoo and brush before dry

Are there any real drugs that will help restore / stop hair loss in 42 yr male?

current meds =Effexor and StraterraAre there any real drugs that will help restore / stop hair loss in 42 yr male?
Not really. I'm 33 and the only drugs I know of and tried is proscar (propecia) and all it did was crash my libido. Real nasty side effects... You can try rogaine but it doesn't work on thinning hair on the front and top of your scalp. One thing that has helped me is that I went on a completely vegetarian diet and started fasting regularly.. I usually fast twice a month 3-5 days every time. It may not work for you, I think it really depends on your body chemistry but it worked for me.

Oh yeah and I tried all the topical stuff also..rogaine, regenix, hair genesis, folligen, tricomin, emu oil (haha) nothing worked.. everything was a let down and I just buzzed my hair and gave up..Are there any real drugs that will help restore / stop hair loss in 42 yr male?
Yes, I have a family member who uses Hair Genesis (they have a web site) and then also had that Bosley treatment done. It looks so wonderful! He is a new person, so confident and happy! Jeff, please feel free to email me if you have questions about either of these methods. After he went to Bosley, 2 of his friends were so impressed that they went as well. I guess it really works! Good Luck to you!

Saw Palmetto is a a well known hair loss alternative to medical treatments like Propecia. Genetic hair loss is directly related to DHT, a very powerful male hormone that are found in your hair follicles and your andrenal glands. Saw Palmetto contains properties that stops your enzymes from binding with the male hormone Testosterone to create DHT, therefore reducing DHT leading to supposed reduction of hair loss.

However you have to bear in mind that Saw Palmetto are not proven as an effective hair loss treatment. You might be able to see some effects on reducing hair loss, but depending on your condition, using it alone will not stop hair loss. If you are really serious about treating your hair, consider treatments like Minoxidil, Propecia and also some Vitamins and lifestyle adjustments. Male Pattern Baldness cannot be cured with just taking this herb.

Another piece of advise is that overtaking Saw Palmetto might lead to some side effects similiar to Propecia.
Effectiveness of the medicine also depend on the your hair condition. It is not neccessorily true that A good product would be beneficial for you with same extent as other.

I think you should use herbal or natural products for hair loss treatment because it is economical, safe and has no side effects.

natural medicines have also a strong solution oriented approach.
I am afraid charlatans like this just see you coming. You have been throwing your money at them for 8 months with no chance of any improvement. Don't you think that you have been conned long enough?

2 medical products definitely do produce useful hair growth in some people, minoxidil lotion and finesteride tablets. However most people abandon even these, either because the improvement is not good enough, or since the both need to be continued indefinitely, they just get fed up with the cost.
now i know why my dad keeps bottles of that stuff around. hes been using it for a long time now and he still looks like hes losing his hair, if that helps =P
My blog has a lot about growing hair long and keeping it strong it may be helpful :) http://thelonghairdiaries.blogspot.com/

What, besides Rogaine, can help stop hair loss in young male, whether due to stress or early balding?

This person is 20, not noticeably bald anywhere, and first started noticing hair thinning last winter. They were seen by a medical doctor who wasn't completely sure whether it was just due to stress or could be early male pattern baldness. He had him start using Rogaine. He is working on the stress. Is there anything else that he can do/take that would help his hair/scalp health? Should he be seen by a dermatologist, or is there no way a doctor can know for sure whether this is stress-related or the male pattern baldness?

Thanks in advance for your help! What, besides Rogaine, can help stop hair loss in young male, whether due to stress or early balding?
its stress he needs to work on his stress like you said

i don't think all these lotions and potions work

Need help with hair loss?
    Hi There,

From my research, the only over-the-counter proven cure for hair loss is Rogaine, though it does have some mild side effects.

Other than that, Propecia works too, but you need to consult a physician before taking it.

I had a hair restoration surgery back in July and couldn't be much happier with the results. Since receiving the hair transplant I've recorded the results on my blog at BattleAgainstBald.com. In addition to my hair growth results, I blog about hair loss and all the other methods for correcting it. I also blog about all the new products claiming to cure hair loss.

All the best in your battle!

    -Seth
A few others you can try are

    - minoxidil/Rogaine: drops that you can apply on your head

    - Nioxin: a kit that contains a shampoo, conditioner, and scalp therapy, or

    - Hairobics: using this right now, specifically their therapeutic shampoo and leave-in conditioner.

Also, check out this Dateline NBC video on hair loss, 5 men using 5 different products over 1 year. The results are encouraging.

I also created a website to help out others. There could be some useful info there for you.
    I had gastric-bypass surgery in 2005.

Early in 2006, I started losing a few strands...then, I started taking a pre-natal vitamin AND biotin three times a day.

My hair is now long, healthy, and silky.

By the way: drink at least 8 glasses of water daily!

Check this stuff out! It's a little pricey, but lasts a while. All sorts of info on their website. My husband has been using it and it really does work! And if you want, they say you can use other products like rogaine with this one. Good luck!!! :)

yeah i have that problem too...tell if u find out will you?

Are there any products that really help hair loss or help stop it?

Rogain works so I've heard from friends. Also, if you are really wanting a good hair product, try Bosley. (www.bosley.com) They can mail you a free DVD and program that will answer your questions regarding hair loss and transplants. It costs from $3000.00 upwards, but it lasts forever. What they do is take hair folicles from the back of your head and transplant the roots and hair to wherever needed. The growth process takes a month or so, but the good thing is it is your own hair and looks very natural. Are there any products that really help hair loss or help stop it?
my friend uses provillus, and he sent me this link for it

    http://www.provillus.com/?aid=682720

    Yes.

Rogaine works as long as you continue using it.
    Use aloevera
I'm using Provillus and it's help.

Is there really anything out on the market that can help stop hair loss?

are there any real Success stories? Is there really anything out on the market that can help stop hair loss?
I have a success story which was published in Natural Health Magazine back in 1997. I used essential oils to regrow my hair after living with severe hair loss. I still use these treatments to maintain my hair today. You can read my story at the link below. Is there really anything out on the market that can help stop hair loss?
You may be losing your hair for a number of different reasons. Some of the more common reasons include stress, lack of diet, and thyroid issues. You may want to consider taking an oral supplement that contains high amounts of Biotin. Elon makes a fabulous oral supplement; Elon Matrix 5,000. This contains 5,000 mcg of Biotin, as well as Silica and L-Cysteine. These three ingredients are the building blocks to Keratin. You hair, as well as your nails, are made of Keratin. Taking this oral supplement will help to produce stronger, healthier hair. Get more info on the web!
Yes, there is! My grandmother had a bald spot on her head for a while, and her groomer told her, and gave her a shampoo and conditioner. 2 months later it's hair there. It really worked!

If you're interested, I can sneak into her bathroom and check what kind of shampoo and conditioner it is? They're really expensive though. I think it was 60 dollars for the shampoo and conditioner together at the groomer.

EDIT: Wait, I found it! ^.^

If you don't want to buy it online, look at your groomer's. I hope it works out for you!

(it says it'll stop the hair loss within a week after using it)
well there are natural ways better then the market.. here is a tip... avoca, mix it with some olive oil and put on your head for about 15 min..

and shampoo must be changed every 4 month, if you colour your hair use Garnie with olive oil... all these will help your hair grow stronger,

but the main issue is to feel happy and not worried, because the main cause of hair lose is your self..

look at whats bothering you and try to fix it or get over it.
I had a big problem of hair loss because I was stressed and did not eat right,

So I tried different products to stop my hair loss.

The one that really made the change is an organic product I got a trial kit

(paid only for shipping $7.95 ) if you would like to try ,I got the coupon for it here: http://best-cosmetic-surgeries.com/stop-鈥?/a>

Yea there is. I'm actually using one right now and its been working really good. It's called PROVILLIUS and it works really good. Check them out heres their link bellow
I've been wondering the same thing. My hair has been falling out lately.

Do Nioxin hair products really help stop hair loss?

People have recomended I use Nioxin hair products because my hair is falling out. Do the products really work? I am 15 years old.Do Nioxin hair products really help stop hair loss?
yep. I'm using Nioxin products ( shampoo, conditioner and treatment) along with some Nioxin multivatamins and it really helped a lot.. In fact my hair even grows faster.Do Nioxin hair products really help stop hair loss?
Age has no bearing on when you start having hair loss. It can be anything from genes to stress.

My sister who is a former hairdresser recommeneded that to me and it did the job. It didn't make my hair grow faster or thicker like the one poster mentioned. However I found that it also dried out my hair terribly.

Get a small bottle from the salon and try it at home. If you like it, get a bigger size when you run out. If you don't, then you're only out $8 or so.
Well this is a bit long but bare with me...

years ago, I went to a psychic with a friend (she was going... not me!) and it was a kind of house reading where you had to go to his house for a '; psychic Party'; and there were other people there and blah blah blah...

anyway... while there, I ran into an executive for an advertising agency that was doing the promotions and commercials for these products and she talked in great detail about them and laughed about how they have no medical basis of fact and do not work. It is the same effect as a placebo, it is a mass produced product that works, because people BELIEVE it will... at the time, the formulation had vitamins in it that only worked slightly because you cannot absorb nutrients through the hair shaft only from taking something internally. She also said that if it does work even a little and then you stop using it, it makes the condition worse than it was before...

From that alone, I never believed in it. but then again, I did meet this broad as she was coming from seeing a psychic so... that says a lot about her credibility too...

Since then, I have worked for dermatologists and I honestly believe that they advocate the use of said products for the same reason the add agencies agree to sell them, because they get money for it!

It could be seborrec dermatitis. A scalp condition that is treatable with shampoos that your dermotologist can prescribe to you. One of the shampoo's they offer you is available to you over the counter, it is the dark blue head and shoulders for that specific condition. They used to give away boat loads of samples in my office.

My suggestion to you, from all of the above information is that you go see an endocronologist and have blood work fdone to determine your hormone levels and nutrient levels are normal? Hair loss in women is usually caused by a flutuation in hormones and poor or improper diet.

another suggestion would be to take hair vitamins that contain Biotin and amino acids, eat more lean protein and fiber and this may sound weird, but have your stool checked for worms or parasites.

If after doing all of this, it is still happening... it is heridetary and there is little you can do to change it other than wearing a wig or having a transplant done. Which has improved over the years to include women in their criteria and at much higher success rates then in the past.

    Good luck!
    Hi

This link has some good home based solutions for hairfall and hair related queries,it sure did work for me so here goes,

    http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm鈥?/a>

    good luck
I tried that product a years ago. It did not work...for me at least. Consult a Doctor....or get a nice hat.

What products actually help stop hair loss and encourage hair growth?

There are several forms of hair loss. If it is male pattern baldness (Androgenetic alopecia) then the hair loss cannot be fully cured in most cases, but just frozen for some time with the treatments availiable on market today.

    1) Hair transplant (FUE technology) creates really natural hairline, no scars, the best way to go if you have enough donor hair and money of course.

    2. Propecia (Finasteride) and Minoxidil are the only ones approved by FDA and proven to work in most men so far.

Generic Propecia (finasteride) is also ok. I use it with same results, and unfortunately same side efefcts(a bit dry feeling in the scalp) as brand propecia. Have tried lots of herbal crap before it and laser combs, so far the only thing that prevents my hairloss, not much regrowth, but has stopped my hairloss completely.

I buy from this pharmacy for the last 2 years - http://www.1rx.biz/generic_propecia.html . It is under $1 per pill for 1mg propecia.also see

    http://www.propecia.com

    http://www.rogaine.com

But before you consider to start propecia you must really study about the side effects. It can mess your hormones real bad if you are not lucky, so you must choose, hair or these side effects. Quite a big perecent have these side effects, more than Merck - the company that holds

Propecia trademark is saying. see the link for side effects stories www.propeciahelp.comWhat products actually help stop hair loss and encourage hair growth?

What products actually help stop hair loss and encourage hair growth?
Massage your scalp daily or more - keep the blood flow going and the hair follicles unblocked. A peppermint shampoo may also help here. Basically, though, if you're too much of a man (testosterone +++) then your hair is the first to jump ship. My advice may slow it a little.
I've tried Doo Gro hair products, and they do actually work. I have notice more hair growth with this product.

The other two products do promote hair growth.

There are millions looking for a way to slow down and reverse their hair loss... few are successful. With these drugs usually comes a price (side effects). Maybe in a few years they will actually come out with something that works no matter what but as for now there is no such miracle. You may want to try to google ';hair loss forum'; and join a community that is looking for the same thing you are.. they should be able to point you in the right direction. Here is a big forum to help http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/

there are products that you apply to your scalp have been proven to work clinically though take time for noticeable difference these are from your chemist/pharmacy then you get prescription medication ie tablets to take through your gp via the NHS
None, they are all a waste of money. Massaging the scalp increases blood flow, and may help!
    Raspberry jam

    - Works on mine!
minoxodil is the only product. ignore claims made by companies.

Laser treatment etc is just a con.

Better still why not accept the fact that many guys lose their hair, its normal and called male pattern baldness.

    Its all down to hormones.
Massage aloe Vera gel over the scalp, leave it for about one hour. After this rinse the hair with warm water. It gives excellent results for hair loss if one uses this massage at least 3-4 times a week. Check out
